Join us at our upcoming Social Impact Breakfasts in Los Angeles. Each breakfast features a set of speakers (Impact-Makers) and an opportunity to connect with others working to make an impact.
The next Social Impact Breakfast is on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 9 Dots Community Learning Center (931 N Highland Ave., Los Angeles, CA, 90038)
Two dynamic breakfast speakers who are working to make an impact in LA will share their stories and insights into making that impact:
- Jeanne Min, Chief of Staff to Los Angeles City Councilmember Mitch O'Farrell
Jeanne Min is the Chief of Staff to Los Angeles City Councilmember Mitch O'Farrell. Her duties include advising the Councilmember on all budget and citywide policy matters, managing the City Hall and District office staff, monitoring public infrastructure and capital improvement projects in the district, and administering discretionary funds to community organizations.
- Kimberley Guillemet, Manager of the Los Angeles Mayor's Office of Reentry
In 2015, Kimberley joined Mayor Eric Garcetti’s Office as the Manager of the Office of Reentry. In that capacity, Kimberley facilitates implementation of city-wide policies and programs to remove barriers to reentry and support formerly incarcerated individuals in finding stability, resources and employment with the goals of improving the city’s public safety and enhancing economic development. She serves as a resource convener for, and collaborator with, a variety of stakeholders to address the short-term and longer term needs of Los Angeles’ formerly incarcerated population, serving a vital role in policy advocacy and program development.
About Social Impact Breakfasts:
Everyday in LA, thousands of people are working to make the city a better place, improving the lives of fellow Angelenos. The City Impact Lab in Los Angeles brings together those working to make an impact -- in government, in the arts, in neighborhoods, in non-profits, and in business -- to share breakfast and jumpstart their effectiveness with tactics for success from impact-makers across the city.
The 75 minute breakfast is formatted to provide attendees with the opportunity to 1) connect to others who can support their work, 2) learn tactics from expert "Impact Makers," and 3) find ways to more effectively create a social impact in LA. Each breakfast includes at least 2 speakers providing their specific strategies to make an impact in LA. Space is limited to 35 attendees from a cross sector of government, non-profit, business, and arts professionals.
The Social Impact Breakfast is only $15. Space is limited, so register early.
9 Dots is located a mile south of the Hollywood/Highland stop on the Metro Red line. There are bus stops a couple of blocks away on the corner of Santa Monica Blvd and Highland Ave as well.
There is limited street parking available in the mornings so we highly recommend that some attendees carpool or take public transportation. If you choose to drive, parking on Highland Ave is restricted, please utilize side streets in the surrounding area (but please heed posted parking restrictions.)
