Join us at our upcoming Social Impact Breakfasts in Los Angeles. Each breakfast features a set of speakers (Impact-Makers) and an opportunity to connect with others working to make an impact.
The next Social Impact Breakfast is on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Grid 110 (555 W 5th St #630, Los Angeles, CA 90013). Two dynamic breakfast speakers who are working to make an impact in LA will share their stories and insights into making that impact:
Wendy Garen, President and CEO at The Ralph M. Parsons Foundation
Wendy became President and CEO in 2008 after working for the Parsons Foundation for over 20 years. Prior to this, Garen was Executive Director of the Los Angeles Child Care and Development Council, program manager at Children’s Home Society of Orange County, and founding staff member of the children’s nonprofit Crystal Stairs. She serves on countless boards, most recently serving as chair of Southern California Grantmakers, a regional association of 300+ foundations, corporations, government grantmakers and philanthropic advisors.
Josh Rubenstein, Director of Public Relations, LAPD
Director Rubenstein's media expertise and enthusiasm helps him lead strategic LAPD communications and media efforts in innovative ways. As the Commanding Officer of the recently established Public Communications Group, Josh oversees Media Relations Division, serving as a key communications strategist and advisor to command staff and department personnel. Before joining LAPD, Josh was CBS LA's chief meteorologist, where he earned an Emmy and two Golden Mic Awards.
About Social Impact Breakfasts:
Everyday in LA, thousands of people are working to make the city a better place, improving the lives of fellow Angelenos. Each breakfast includes at least 2 speakers providing their specific strategies to make an impact in LA. Space is limited to 35 attendees from a cross sector of government, non-profit, business, and arts professionals.
